Marked London and New York on top of the barrel. Proof marks on the left side of the barrel. Decent wood. Some dings and dents on the grip area and small cracks near the muzzle. Engraving on trigger guard and top of the barrel. Feather spring is broken, but the rest of the action works fine. See pictures for details.
Ames U.S. Navy Percussion Pistol Dated 1844
Nice Brown Gun. Some pitting on the hammer and near the breech on the barrel, but not severe. Functions well. Lock is in nice shape, USN 1844 is marked strong, Ames mark is weak on the lock. Initials W.L. carved into the fore-end of the stock. Cartouche is faintly visible on the left side of the gun. Wood has a loose grain with some dents and dings but is in fair shape. Overall Decent little gun. See pictures for details.
